234 Naptime

April 19, 2009

Naptime is nowadays a competition in this house..

I’m trying to get our 1,5 year-old to stay in bed, and keep the clothes on – and fall asleep. She is trying to as fast as possible undress.. and then say “mamma mamma” until I come back to dress her… After a couple of hours of trying to convience her to go to sleep – mommy gives up and takes her up again..

….and then the 1,5 year-old fall asleep on the floor or in the stroller around 2 hours before evening bedtime … and then mommy and daddy can’t get her to sleep in the evening instead.. and we are having happy hour until late..

Mommy is also trying to find new solutions – some kind of clothes that she can’t open and take off.. no luck this far.

232 Hummingbirds

April 17, 2009

Today I wish I had a better camera…

There was this little hummingbird baby in our lemon tree

And the mother and the father flying back and forth to feed it… I managed to get a few quite good pictures but they aren’t perfectly sharp… The birds were so busy feeding their baby … so as long as I didn’t go to close it didn’t bother them that I was there.

231 Passover is over

April 15, 2009

Passover is over for this time and I’m already baking bread. I managed to purchase the two only packs of fresh yeast that they had in the store next to us.. right after they opened.

Last year after passover I was waiting in a line at the bakery for two hours to get a few pitas… so I thought this year I try getting flour and yeast and go home to bake. Seems like an easier choice…

In a little bit more than one hour we’re gonna have bread again! Yeay!!

Oh.. yes.. I have to give you the link to hubby’s blog too.. he’s singing the throwing out the matzos song (that he just made up)

230 Sick dude

April 11, 2009

Now all the sudden dude is sick and we have no idea what it is and where it comes from. It doesn’t happen very often that he is sick. Usually when the whole family is sick in flu he is the only healthy one. Now (almost) everybody else are healthy (except for E’s popped ear drum) but dude is with high fever… uuhmn.. that’s new!

I’m feeding him coffee and chocholate covered marzipan though nothings seems to help. Still miserable. He is even going to stay home from work tomorrow. So now – Go over to his blog and send him tons of .. whatever.

I’ll take the kids out for a while so he will get some rest.

229 Passover

April 10, 2009

We had a wonderful Leil haSeder..
We had five guests over, and had a wonderful mix of Hebrew, Swedish, Danish and Faroese … 🙂 Well I have to admit we used English for translation once in a while too..

The kids enjoyed it so much to.. all exited.. They have been waiting for weeks. They usually go to sleep early.. but at Leil haSeder they all three were awake until 10.30 in the evening.

Our three year old sang Ma Nishtana.. and she did it soo good! The fact that the room was filled with guests she didn’t even know didn’t bother her. I’m so proud!! I wish I could show you the video – but I don’t want to. It is available on facebook for those who know my name there..

Our seder plate

The best is.. I’m not used to cooking for ten people and I had no idea how much food to make. So of course I made waaaaay too much food and we have leftovers for the entire weekend. I didn’t have to cook today at all. How wonderful!! Usually I spend all Friday afternoon cooking.

Anyway.. nothing more to tell at the moment.
Over and out!

I almost spit my coffee when I read this.
